Week 5 Feb. 14

Wikipedia, the encyclopedia anyone can edit, is both its greatest strength and greatest weakness. the editor of the article can be identified by the IP address from which it was edited. This effects the reliability of Wikipedia, because a person with no knowledge on a subject can post information as factual or even a bias corporate owner can enter information in which it favors his company. However, this can be a good thing because an article is constantly being revised and revisited. In the case that one was able to see where the editions were coming from, this would allow the reader to know whether the alterations were bias or even credible.

What I've Learned This Year
Mr.Clung's article describes different things that are important to the education process. First of all, one should "read the crowd". The students should be the focus of the lesson and should be developed to best fit that group. Next, the teacher should "be flexible". Things will not always get done in the manner that they were antisipated and stressing over it won't make things better. "Communicate" to the students to allow a strong teacher student relationship. "Be reasonable"- set high standard but be understanding when the students fall short. Those are a couple of the important things to remember while teaching.

  1. Hi Stacy, Im in class E. I agree with you on the wikipedia website. There are many advantages with the being able to edit an entry. There are also many disadvantages too. If a teacher is not flexible while teaching, then not much will go as "planned". We have to be able to communicate with the students to know their weaknesses and strengths so we can help them develop and enhace.

  2. I agree with your post about how wikipedia is not such a reliable source but do not agree so much with the fact that it has strengths mainly for the fact it can be edited by anyone so it makes it a not so reliable source.
